Explanation
The reason why I chose this topic is to describe the many different locations and landscapes around Australia. The poems I wrote are: The Australian War Memorial, Uluru, The Great Barrier Reef, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Jenolan Caves, The 12 Apostles, Questacon, Luna Park, Bondi Beach and Taronga Zoo. I feel that these poems I wrote clearly display Australian tourist attractions and what they look like so that the reader can imagine what the location looks like if they have never seen it before. My poems give facts about the locations some including how many tourists the location gets every year. The types of SPAAAMOH I used in my poems are: adjectives, personification, simile and alliteration. I think that these tequniques help the reader to understand what the author is saying or describing. These techniques make the poems make sense and make it a good poem. Personification helps the reader get engaged with the poem and find it interesting. Adjectives give meaning to the poem to give it a clear description of the location. Similes give the poems more meaning and depth to the location. Alliteration gives the poem a fun sound and excitement to the poem to grab the reader’s attention.
